I will classify this post by quoting a good friend of mine who is a devoted liberal and during the campaign would post stuff by saying “You Cannot Make This Stuff Up.”
First in the box is the elite fashion industry where some of these intellectual giants have announced that they will not provide any fashionable clothes to the new First Lady, Melania Trump. So what is their reason for refusing to sell clothes to the new First Lady? Wait, because you cannot make this stuff up. They will do it based on their objection to the moral values they hold and which, according to them, are diametrically opposite of those held by the President Elect. Sophie Tehallet, who has provided clothes to Michelle Obama penned a letter informing the world that if Melania Trump wanted any of her clothes she would not be getting them. Of course nobody asked her for her opinion but she gave it anyway.
“As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady,” the letter reads. “The rhetoric of racism, sexism, and xenophobia unleashed by her husband’s presidential campaign are incompatible with the shared values we live by.” “I encourage my fellow designers to do the same,”
Now lets think about this for a moment. First, nobody has requested her clothing line and I it is doubtful that Melania Trump will be requesting Ms. Tehallet to clothe her. But it is the principle that you have to examine. The liberals in this world live by such a double standard they don’t even see it when they openly practice it. Remember when some bakers refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding because it conflicted with their religious and moral standards. The left went into a frenzy denouncing them as bigots. And the law sided with them and said the bakers either had to bake the cake or be liable. So I guess it is a principle that works for them when it accomplishes what they want and one they can ignore when it suits their fancy.
Second up today is the issue of Fake News. Now those of you who have read some of my posts here on Facebook will quickly realize that I have been calling out his stuff for a long time. But over and over the minions on both the left and right make this little news posters making all kinds of outrageous claims and distorting the truth and people, even many of my friends, repost them. The creators of these pieces of political propaganda have no interest in the truth (remember, it comes from both sides) but only to rile up the public and discredit the politician they are targeting. Most of the creators are a twenty something that has never held any real job outside of some political operation.
My last one for today deals with hypocrisy. The Democrats are in a frenzied state over the nomination of Senator Jeff Sessions to be the Attorney General. They allege that back in the 1980’s while practicing law. I will be honest, I don’t know if he said these things or not and neither does anyone else. But here is the hypocrisy. When a Democrat is revealed to have said such things in the past he/she is excused and said to “have evolved.” We all remember Robert Byrd (D-WV) who was a member of the KKK and was on record as using the N word. Did the left excoriate him? Not exactly. He was the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. And defended by Democrats.
I should offer one last honest statement. I will admit that I have said and thought racially offensive things in my life. I will also challenge anyone, of any race, to say with an honest face, that they have not done so in their life. As I have grown older I have refrained from such things. I have a racially diverse family and realize how wrong this can be. These remarks attributed to Jeff Sessions are over 35 years old. Is that the best they can do? I would hate to sit in front of any body and have to justify EVERYTHING I ever said or did in my life. It would not be pretty. But I would hope that my friends and those that know me would stand up for me and defend whom they really know me to be.
P.S. In 2013 then Majority Leader Harry Reid convinced the Democrat Caucus to change the rules of the Senate to prevent filibusters of administration appointees. I happen to agree with this change. A President wins and election and he/she is entitled to the people they want to serve along side the President. If that nominee can garner a majority in the Senate they should be approved. It should not take a super majority of 60 votes. If one Democrat now says they regret that decision they should be voted out of office for the sheer hypocrisy of the statement.
